An important note on asset classes

You’ll notice that I talk a lot about residential and multifamily development throughout By Right Academy.

That’s intentional—but it’s not the point.

Multifamily is simply the asset class I chose to focus on because it was meaningful to me, intellectually interesting, and aligned with the environments I wanted to operate in. The principles, however, are universal.

The blueprint we’re building here applies whether you’re developing:

  • Retail

  • Hospitality and hotels

  • Medical office

  • Industrial and logistics

  • Commercial office

  • Mixed-use projects

  • Sports-anchored developments

  • Data centers

  • Or asset types that haven’t even been invented yet

Entitlements are entitlements.
People dynamics are people dynamics.
Risk is risk.
Decision-making under uncertainty doesn’t change.

I’ll talk separately about how to choose the right path and asset class for you. For now, understand this:

If you can think like a developer in one asset class, you can transfer that thinking anywhere.
